Sabīne Šnē (b. 1996, Riga, Latvia) in her creative practice constructs visual stories in order to explore the intersections between culture and nature and is particularly interested in the relationships between humans and non-humans. By weaving together scientific research, contemporary theories, and fiction, she creates worlds that highlight entanglements in ecosystems and multi-species intelligence. Šnē has a broad interdisciplinary practice that combines video, 3D animation, sound, sculpture, and drawing.

Šnē studied at the Art Academy of Latvia, Department of Visual Communication. For her graduation work ‘The Same Worlds’ (2022), she was awarded the Helen Scott Lidgett Award and received a year-long residency at the ACME Studios Programme in London. Her works have been shown internationally, including exhibitions at Riga Photography Biennale (Sigulda, 2024), Kupfer Gallery (London, 2024), Lot Projects (solo exhibition, London, 2023), National Gallery of Art (Vilnius, 2023), Vent Space (Tallinn, 2022), contemporary art festival Survival Kit 13 (Riga, 2022), RIXC Art and Science Festival (Riga, 2022), Kim? Contemporary Art Centre (solo exhibition, Riga, 2022).
