Sabīne Šnē (b. 1996) is a visual artist born in Latvia, currently lives between Riga and London. In her creative practice, she constructs visual stories in order to explore the intersections between culture and nature, informed by historical and current ideas. She is interested in the relationships and the interconnectedness between humans and non-humans. In her art, Šnē reflects on human habits, desires, traces of actions and their impact on the environment. She has a broad interdisciplinary practise that combines video, 3D animation, sound, sculpture and drawing.



Sabīne Šnē graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (2020) and Master of Fine Arts (2022) from the department of Visual Communication of the Art Academy of Latvia. She has participated in various group exhibitions and art projects in Latvia and abroad, including If Disrupted, It Becomes Tangible. In winter 2022 she had a first solo show Partner, Parasite (KIM? Contemporary Art Centre, Rīga). During the year of 2021 Šnē has participated in various artist residencies in Latvia: Rucka in Cēsis, the Sansusī Well-being Residency in Aknīste and PAiR, organized by the VV foundation, in Pāvilosta. Šnē has won the Helen Scott-Lidgett Award 2022/2023 and is part of ACME Studios Early Career Award Program.




Sabīne Šnē (dz. 1996) ir Latvijā dzimusi māksliniece, kura dzīvo un strādā Londonā un Rīgā. Mākslinieciskajā praksē viņa konstruē vizuālus stāstus, kuros pēta kultūras un dabas krustpunktus, balstoties uz vēsturiskām un laikmetīgām idejām. Šnē interesē cilvēka un citu ekosistēmu veidojošo organismu attiecības, to savstarpējā saistība. Mākslas darbos tiek attēloti cilvēku paradumi, vēlmes, viņu darbību atstātās pēdas un to ietekme uz apkārtējo vidi. Mākslas darbos tiek apvienoti dažādi mediji un tehnikas - video, 3D animācija, skaņa, skulptūra un zīmējums.



Sabīne Šnē ieguvusi bakalaura grādu (2020) un maģistra grādu (2022) Latvijas Mākslas akadēmijas Vizuālās komunikācijas apakšnozarē. Viņa ir piedalījusies vairākās grupu izstādēs un mākslas projektos Latvijā un ārvalstīs: "If Disrupted, It Becomes Tangible. Laikmetīgās mākslas centrs, Rīga). 2021. gada laikā Šnē ir piedalījusies vairākās mākslinieku rezidencēs Latvijā: Ruckas mākslinieku rezidence Cēsīs, Sansusī Labklājības rezidence Aknīstē un VV Foundation organizētā PAiR Pāvilostā. Šnē ieguva Helēnas Skotas-Lidžetas balvu 2022/2023 un ir daļa no ACME Studio Jauno mākslinieku karjeras programmas.
