Sabīne Šnē is a mixed-media artist who explores the relationships between humans and the more-than-human, meaning the organisms, elements and entities that sustain us and all life on Earth. Combining scientific research, posthumanist theories and fiction, she creates worlds that highlight entanglements in ecosystems and multispecies intelligence. Her work is rooted in her rural upbringing, intergenerational knowledge and a drive to dismantle extractive systems.
Šnē has a broad interdisciplinary practice that combines video, 3D animation, sound, sculpture and drawing.
Her works have been shown internationally in solo and group exhibitions,
as well as in video screenings across Europe, the UK, and the US.
She has participated in numerous artist residencies, most recently at Creative Climate Action Residency at the Gibraltar Point Centre for Arts, Toronto, Canada.
