Sabīne Šnē is a visual artist who explores the relationships between humans and the more-than-human, focusing on organisms and elements that sustain life on Earth and are impacted by resource exploitation. Combining scientific research, posthumanist theory and fiction, she creates worlds that highlight entanglements in ecosystems and multispecies intelligence. Her work is informed by her rural upbringing in Latvia and seeks to move beyond a human-centric perspective.
Šnē has a broad interdisciplinary practice that spans video, 3D animation, sound, sculpture and drawing.
Her works have been shown internationally in solo and group exhibitions, as well as in video screenings across Europe, the UK, the US and Canada.
She has participated in numerous artist residencies, most recently at the Creative Climate Action Residency at the Gibraltar Point Centre for Arts, Toronto, Canada.
